Play one on one in practice and in workouts

Here is an idea to improve the way players play one on one and what they get out of it.
I think it is important for all players to play one on one both during practices during the season and during out of season workouts. I also think that it is important to make the one on one meaningful and as close to game-like as it can be.

Continuous 1-on-1 Players need to play 1-on-1 in practice and in workouts. In continuous 1-on-1 there is no “checking up top.”

VCSU Alliance Pipeline – Scholarships for Basketball in Valley City, ND

Scholarships are gifts of money that are awarded on the basis of academic performance and potential. The Valley City State University scholarship program is made possible only through the generous donations from alumni and friends. Students must be enrolled full-time at VCSU to be eligible for scholarships and must be enrolled in on-campus courses.

The Alliance Pipeline Scholarship – VCSU is established by Alliance Pipeline. This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to a student who demonstrates strong academic performance. The student must maintain a 3.00 GPA and participate in an intercollegiate sport.

Aiken Jaycees Grant Basketball for Athletes in South Carolina

The University of South Carolina Aiken Scholarships for Basketball are established through the generosity of individuals, organizations and the University community. These scholarships are designed to recognize qualities of leadership, merit and academic performance and to assist students in achieving their educational goals. USC Aiken offers over 275 academic scholarships each year.

Some programs can be used by students while attending USCA. Other programs may be helpful to students continuing their education beyond their careers at USCA.

Pac Rim Hoops Basketball Summer Camps in Port Alberni, BC

Summer is the best time to up your basketball skills, Nick Seredick said.

PAC-RIM Hoops is offering a three day summer tune-up camp for kids in Grades 9-12 starting next Wednesday, Aug. 4.

The camp is being held at the ADSS gym on all three days, and is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $60.

Players have the option of staying in town and developing their game instead of going out of town.

The camp will consist of warmups, offensive and defensive fundamentals, shooting drills, weight training and video instruction.

NHS Basketball Summer Camps in Duluth, GA1

Several athletic camps have been scheduled to take place at Northview High School during the next two months.

The NHS boys’ basketball youth camp will begin Monday and conclude Friday, July 23.

The camp cost is $30 and each additional child will cost half price.

If money is an issue, scholarships are available. Checks may be made payable to Clay Club Basketball.

The camp will take place at North Clay Middle School and participants will receive a shirt along with instruction on fundamentals and skills.

HoopAdemics Youth Basketball Camps in Lincoln, RI

LINCOLN – The 14th annual HoopAdemics Basketball Camp will be running its basketball instruction program for children ages 5-16 beginning in August.

The camp, a unique combination of the mental and physical aspects of the game, has been very successful for many young boys and girls in the Blackstone Valley area. UWEC 2010 Blugold Girls Basketball Camps in Eau Claire, WI

UW-Eau Claire head coach Tonja Englund and the Blugold women’s basketball program are conducting their summer camp as more than 450 campers have participated the past three weeks.
UWEC’s McPhee Center the place to be as the campers work on their fundamentals and develop their individual skills. Coach Englund says having her current and former players help out makes the camp a great learning experience for everybody.

College of the Desert Basketball Summer Camp in Coachella Valley, CA

College of the Desert is hosting its annual Basketball Camp for aspiring hoops players from across the Coachella Valley.

The four-day camp will be held Aug. 16 through Aug. 19 at the COD gymnasium.

“It teaches fundamentals, it works on skill development and the kids play in tournament games,” said Richard Lee, who is one of the coaches in charge of the camp.

Lee is the head coach of the Cathedral City High track team, and Rob Hanmer, the former Cathedral City High boys’ basketball head coach are organizing the camp. COD head basketball coach Henry Viveros founded the camp and will also be assisting in the coaching this year.

Tim Legler Basketball Summer Camp in Gloucester County, NJ

It’s probably just a coincidence that during the three years that former NBA player Tim Legler and current Kingsway Regional High School boys basketball head coach George Passante have been running a summer basketball camp that the Dragons have had their most successful seasons in school history.

But if it’s not a coincidence, any aspiring ball players should plan on attending the Tim Legler Basketball Camp that runs from July 26-30 at Kingsway.

Getting in good with Passante is a smart move and learning from Legler might be an even better one.
