Reddie Football Summer Camps in Henderson, AR
Over 100 players will report to camp at Henderson State next week as the Reddie football team begins preparation for the 2010 season.
The Reddies report on Wednesday, August 4, with the first practice beginning Thursday, Aug. 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Henderson State will be the first team in the state of Arkansas to begin its season as the Reddies play host to Southeastern Oklahoma on Thursday, Aug. 26 with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at Carpenter-Haygood Stadium.
The NCAA passed legislation moving back the start of the football season last year. However those teams with prior contracts were exempt. No other four-year institution in the state will play its first game prior to Sept. 2

Youth football camp honors slain Miami Hurricanes player Bryan Pata
A youth football camp dedicated to the memory of murdered University of Miami football player Bryan Pata will be staged Saturday at FlU’s Biscayne Bay Campus.
The second annual Pata Camp #95 will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Miami Stadium on the grounds of the university at 3000 NE 151st St.
All South Florida children and teens are invited to attend and register on the spot for the camp, which is open to those age 6 through 15.
The idea of the camp, which carries Pata’s UM jersey number, is to remind youngsters of the tragic death of the promising 22-year-old, 6-foot-4 defensive end who was expected to be drafted into the NFL.

Norcal Football Summer Camps in Petaluma CA
One of the North Bay’s most prestigious youth football camps is coming to Casa.
Ken Peralta will bring the Norcal Football Camp to the Casa Grande campus July 12-15.
The camp is specifically designed for pre-high school players who are entering grades three through nine.
Young athletes of all abilities from beginners to veterans of youth programs are welcome and will benefit from the camp, according to Pralta.
“We are all about teaching fundamentals and generating a love for the game,” says Peralta, former head football coach at Marin Catholic High School.

Over 20 Detroit Lions Football Summer Camps in Michigan
The Detroit Lions will conduct over 20 Youth Football Camps around the state of Michigan.
As part of an 18-city, 20-camp summer tour around the state, the Detroit Lions organization will host a “mini-camp” in Whitehall for kids July 17-18
The two-day camp, which runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon both days, takes place at Whitehall High School, providing skills for players on both sides of the ball. Day 1 will be for offensive positions (quarterback, running back, wide receiver and offensive line), while Day 2 will focus on defense (defensive line, linebacker and defensive back).
Cost is $89 per child.
