Youth Hockey Equipment Advices from U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced recalls of the following products. Consumers should stop using recalled products unless otherwise instructed.

Units: About 67,000 in the United States and 60,000 in Canada

Importer: Bauer Hockey Inc., of Greenland, N.H.

Hazard: Paint and decals on hockey sticks, shafts and blades contain excessive levels of lead.

Description: Recalled are Nike Bauer Supreme One 50 junior sticks, shafts and replacement blades; Nike Bauer Supreme One 70 junior player stick; Nike Bauer Supreme One 75 junior player and goalie sticks; Bauer Supreme One 75 junior player stick; Nike Bauer Supreme One 90 youth and junior sticks, shafts and replacement blades; Nike Bauer Vapor XVI junior player stick; Nike Bauer Vapor XX junior player and goalie sticks; Bauer Vapor XX junior player stick; Nike Bauer Apollo junior player stick; and Nike Bauer Supreme Force junior player stick.

Sold at: Sporting goods stores nationwide from February 2005 through March 2010 for $80 to $200 for sticks, $30 for blades and $40 to $90 for shafts.
